Since 2009, the Tajiri Ferdi Foundation (formerly the Shinkichi Tajiri Foundation, 2009–2021) has been dedicated to fostering the preservation and management of the work and personal archives of the Dutch-Japanese-American visual artist Shinkichi Tajiri (1923–2009), his Dutch wife Ferdina ("Ferdi") Jansen (1927–1969), and related artists. This work has primarily resulted in supporting exhibitions and publications.
In 2021, the Tajiri Ferdi Foundation amended its statutes and now focuses on stimulating research, publications, and projects about this remarkable artist couple, their kindred spirits, and postwar avant-garde art more broadly. A key resource for this effort is the rich personal archive of Tajiri and Ferdi, which includes correspondence, photographs and films, clippings, sketches and designs, partial collections, and the artists’ personal library.
The foundation’s primary aim is to enhance the accessibility of this extensive archive for research, education, and the promotion of the artistic legacy of Tajiri and Ferdi.

The scientific study and comprehensive digital accessibility of this artist archive and the artistic oeuvre of Tajiri and Ferdi are essential tools to achieving this goal, ensuring that the lives and works of both artists continue to hold a prominent place within Dutch and international art history.

The Tajiri Ferdi Foundation has been recognized as a cultural ANBI (Public Benefit Organization) since January 1, 2021.
